Notice Board Module

Introduction

Notice board pages are available on the About, Sectional and Members menu's. Each of these pages may contain multiple 'notice boards' containing notes for handy information or quick snippets of information. For example, Camp kit list, Programme ideas for leaders, local shop discount offers, interesting local events, etc.

When you first open a notice board page, you will see a blank pin board, similar to this:

All page visitors will be able to view notes. Depending on your user access levels, you may also be able to add notes and/or manage the notice board settings.

If the [manage notice boards] button is available to you, clicking it will display the table above. This lists the notice boards setup for this page.

Clicking an [amend] button will open the notice board's details, which allows you to change the name and description.

Clicking the [back to notice board] button will return to the notes list.

Clicking [add notice board] will open a blank notice board details form.

After clicking an [amend] or [add notice board] button will display a page similar to this:

The Name and Description fields are the Notice Board header and sub-header that will appear at the top of the notice board.

If you would like a specific Notice Board to be displayed as the default when the page opens, add a space character at the start of the Name.

Clicking [save changes] will store the changes you made.

Clicking [cancel] will display the Manage Notice Boards table, without saving changes.

Clicking [delete record] will delete the notice board. This will only be possible if the notice board is empty.



After changing notice board details, the notice board header bar will change.

Add Notes

Depending on your access level, clicking the [add note] button will open a Note Details form, similar to this:

The Name field is the note heading.

Summary Text will be displayed below the Name text in the note when displayed on the Notice Board.

The Notice Board field will be pre-populated with the notice board that you were viewing when your clicked [add note].

The Creator and Created Date fields will also be pre-populated for you, but may both be overridden.

The Expiry Date may be left blank or hold a future date when the note will no longer be shown.

Notes should hold the details of your note. It may be left blank if the Name and Summary text will suffice.

Clicking [save changes] will store the changes you made.

Clicking [cancel] will exit this form without saving.

Clicking [delete record] will delete the Note.

After changing the Notice Boards and adding Notes to it, the board will appear similar to this:

Where multiple notice boards are setup for a page, the notice board header serves as a drop down list to change the notice board.


Clicking the [See Details] button on one of the Notes will open up the details, similar to this:

Clicking the [back to notice board] button will return to the notice board.

Clicking the [edit note] button open up the Note Details page.
